Chief, Mehbooba Mufti chaired a meeting of her core group of
political party. In her residence, she was accompanied by her young
brother, Tassaduq Hussain Mufti. The cinematographer son of the
former chief minister Mufti Muhammed Sayeed surprised everyone in the
sense that till now the former CM has maintained no interest in
politics. Mehbooba on Sunday began the meeting by introducing her
brother. Sources at the meeting said that Mehbooba might likely take
over as the chief minister soon. In continuing her statement, she
said that her brother was interested in joining politics because he
actively wants to do something for Kashmir.

states he mainly wants to focus on environmental issues, claimed
Mehbooba. She also said that her brother wanted to know his father as
a politician and a leader of the state. The best way to know him is
certainly through politics, his colleagues and his party leader. This
is the reason why she invited him into the meeting, according to the
sources. Sources also said that there were enough indications that if
Mehbooba empties her seat in the Lok Sabha to take over as the Chief
Minister, the person likely to succeed her will be none other than
her PDP candidate of the constituency Tassaduq.
She
is the MP of Anantnag, and she will contest the Assembly seat after
the death of her father, Mufti Sahib. The seat has been remaining
vacant till now. It was also said that Tassaduq could be nominated by
the party, but nothing is finalized as of now.
Tassaduq
is so far best known for his cinematography in movies like Omkara.
Till date, he has maintained that he was not interested in politics.
Therefore, his recent approach surprised the party members to some
extent. At the meeting on Sunday, several senior office bearers,
former ministers and PDP MPs authorized the power on Mehbooba to take
the final call on the formation of the new government with the BJP.
With the alliance of the party with BJP following the death of Sayeed
made many party leaders questioned the practicality of persistence
with the alliance of the saffron party. Following this, it can be
expected that Mehbooba Ji will take stock of the implementation in
the Agenda of Alliance.

the formation of the government last year. Some sources claimed that
while there was a very little possibility of the PDP demanding an
overhaul of the agenda, Mehbooba might take stock of the

Sahib, the alliance government could not stick and win the hearts of
the people completely. Many leaders have expressed their views saying
that there were several shortcomings in the implementation of the
common agenda. In addition to that, they also said that they will
take a look at what went wrong. They will even consider at the things
that has to be done in an effort to ensure that people are satisfied.
