रोनाल्डो फिर यूरोप के सर्वश्रेष्ठ खिलाड़ी

पुर्तगाल के कप्तान और रियल मैड्रिड के स्टार स्ट्राइकर क्रिस्टियानो रोनाल्डो को इस साल का यूरोप का वर्ष का सर्वश्रेष्ठ फुटबॉलर चुना गया है। रोनाल्डो के शानदार प्रदर्शन के दम पर रियल मैड्रिड 2015-16 सत्र में जहां चैंपियंस लीग खिताब जीतने में सफल रहा तो वहीं उनकी अगुवाई में पुर्तगाल ने पहली बार इस साल का यूरो कप खिताब हासिल किया।

एमी के गॉडफादर सलमान

शोभा डे को करारा जवाब

एक्टर अमिताभ बच्चन ने शुक्रवार को लेखिका शोभा डे पर निशाना साधा। उन्होंने रियो ओलंपिक में महिलाओं के बैडमिंटन सिंगल सेमीफाइनल में जीत पर पीवी सिंधू को बधाई देते हुए शोभा डे की उन बातों पर पलटवार किया जिसमें उन्होंने एथलीटों को महज सेल्फी खिलाड़ी बताया था।
गौरतलब है कि शोभा डे ने भारतीय एथलीटों का मजाक उडाते हुए कुछ समय पहले कहा था कि उनका लक्ष्य केवल सेल्फी खींचना और प्लेग्राउंड से बिना मेडल लिए हुये वापस लौटना है। लेखिका की टिप्पणी को लेकर उनकी काफी आलोचना हुई थी।

 बच्चन ने सिंधु को बधाई देते हुए कहा कि जब वह वापस आएंगी तब वह उसके साथ एक सेल्फी लेना पसंद करेंगे।
उन्होंने लिखा है, ‘पीवी सिंधू, आप ‘खाली हाथ’ नहीं मेडल लेकर वापस आ रही हैं। और हम आपके साथ ‘सेल्फी’ निकालना चाहते हैं।’ एक अन्य पोस्ट में बच्चन ने लिखा है, ‘पीवी सिंधू, आपने ‘बोलने वालों’ की बोलती बंद कर दी। कर्म बोलता है और वो कभी कभी ‘कलम’ को भी हरा देता है। बधाई।’ इसके बाद मशहूर अभिनेता ने लोगों को महिला शक्ति को नजरअंदाज नहीं करने की सलाह दी है।

आइफोन-7 में मिलेगी 256 जीबी

Film Rustom ahead from Mohenjo Daro

फिल्म रूस्तम के आगे ‘मोहनजोदाड़ो’ पिछड़ गई है। रूस्तम में अक्षय कुमार हैं तो मोहनजोदाड़ो में ऋतिक रोशन। ये दोनों फिल्में एक ही दिन रिलीज हुई हैं। रूस्तम जहां अच्छी खासी कमाई कर रही है, मोहनजोदाड़ो ने फिल्म निर्माताओं को चिंता में डाल दिया है।

Congress to ride on Sheila Dikshit’s Experience for UP Elections

After poor performances across the country, and barely managing to restore its presence in the states, Congress has finally unfurled its political strategy for Uttar Pradesh state elections to be conducted in 2017. Despite cries for bringing Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the party high-command has poached Sheila Dikshit from her never-ending sabbatical to pilot the UP elections. Congress veteran has been a power of reckoning, serving as the Delhi CM from 1998 till 2013.

Will Delhi’s experience serve good for UP?

Congress has not tasted success in UP for more than thirty years and relying on a three-time CM is not a great prospect for a party that has had a legacy of Phoenix-like resurgence.
Congress is retracting faster than the economy in Uttar Pradesh. With just 44 members in Lok Sabha, the party has lost major state elections in Delhi, Haryana, Assam, Kerala and West Bengal. It’s fortress in Uttarkhand and Arunachal Pradesh barely managed to serve the President’s rule with agonizing panic.

When it comes to leadership within the party, Rahul Gandhi’s promotion as the party president is highly questionable. Here Dikshit’s experience is unchallenged, only to be shattered by the new entrant, Aam Aadmi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal. She was however quickly sworn in as the Governor of Kerala in March 2014, which she chaired till August 2014 before resigning. Quite a political legacy she has earned for herself.

Sheila Dikshit’s UP Connection

Political News in Hindi states between 1984 and 1989, Dikshit represented the Kannauj constituency, serving as the Minster of State for Parliamentary Affairs and then as a MoS-PMO. Her experience in UP is rather inspirational where she led many campaigns for women and under-privileged communities in the state.
She was married to Vinod Diskhit with an ancestral base at Unnao, 60 kilometres from UP’s capital- Lucknow. Even Sheila Dikshit acknowledged that she is ready to take up any role in the party political circle of Uttar Pradesh, and be represented as the “Daughter in Law” of the state.

What is in store for Congress: Agony or rejoice

Congress seemingly hired the kingmaker, Prashant Kishor to manage the image and political resurgence in Uttar Pradesh. His first strategy was to make Priyanka the face of the party in the state. However, Priyanka has stayed away from any limelight so far. Her participation in campaigns is however very much on, even if she chooses to be out of power.

तूफान से पहले हांगकांग से विमान सेवाएं बंद

हांगकांग चक्रवाती तूफान निदा की चपेट में है।  तूफान के कारण अधिकतर संस्थान बंद हैं और 150 से अधिक विमान सेवाएं बंद कर दिया गया है। निचले क्षेत्रों में बाढ़ की चेतावनी जारी की गई है। चक्रवाती तूफान के प्रभाव से 100 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से हवाएं चल रही हैं। इसके बाद वेधशाला ने स्थानीय समयानुसार पांच बज कर बीस मिनट पर तेज बारिश की चेतावनी जारी की है।

विमान अधिकारी ने बताया कि चक्रवाती तूफान की वजह से 150 से ज्यादा विमान सेवाएं स्थगित की गई हैं। हजारों की संख्या में यात्री हवाई अड्डे पर फंसे हुएं हैं और 325 से ज्यादा विमान सेवाओं की समयसारणी दोबारा बनाई जाएगी। इस वजह से फेरी, ट्राम और बस सेवा भी स्थगित हैं। चक्रवाती तूफान की चेतावनी जारी होने के बाद सोमवार शाम से ही दुकानें बंद हैं और सड़के खाली हैं। वेधशाला के अनुसार तूफान अब चीन के गुआंगदोंग प्रांत की ओर बढ़ रहा है लेकिन यह पहले के मुकाबले कमजोर हुआ है। अधिक जानकारी के लिए क्लिक करें @ http://goo.gl/02lC4l

टी20 सीरीज पर चर्चा करेगा बीसीसीआई

भारत का सर्वोच्च क्रिकेट बोर्ड बीसीसीआई के आला पदाधिकारी मंगलवार को यहां सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले पर चर्चा करेंगे। यह चर्चा भारतीय क्रिकेट बोर्ड की जस्टिस लोढ़ा पैनल के साथ अहम बैठक से पहले होना तय है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बोर्ड में बड़े बदलाव के लिए समिति की ज्यादातर सिफारिशों को मान लिया है।

बोर्ड की कार्यकारिणी की आपात बैठक इस अहम मसले पर चर्चा करने के लिए बुलाई गई है जिसके कारण बीसीसीआई में बड़े बदलाव होना तय है। इसके अलावा इस महीने के आखिर में अमेरिका के फ्लोरिडा में वेस्टइंडीज के खिलाफ प्रस्तावित दो मैचों की टी20 सीरीज पर भी विचार किया जाएगा।

Top 5 Probable Candidates Who Could Be Leading RBI after Rajan

The present RBI governor, Raghuram Rajanwill be bowing out of his office in September. And after all the mess that has been talked about him in the media by pro-Indian economists, he has already made it clear that there is no return for him for sure. At least not as public office bearer. The government has already started looking for a formidable candidate to replace him, but it seems to be a big shoe to fit anybody in.
According to the reports floating in the Hindi news online segment, there are at least five probable candidates likely to be considered for the coveted governor position. Let us find out about them.

1. Urjit Patel

A young economist with a flawless track record in Indian scenario, Urjit Patel is the current Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. If there is anyone who has closely worked with Rajan on the fiscal policies, it is Urjit. His current portfolio involves planning and implementation of Monetary Policy, Statistics and IT Management, Deposit Insurance and RTI. An alumni of Oxford and Yale Universities, Patel had served as a Finance Consultant to the Government of India between 1999 and 2001.
So in short, Urjit has already worked with the present government, and more or less finds himself in a comfortable race, considering his professional experience.

2. Rakesh Mohan

Like Patel, Rakesh Mohan too has strong RBI experience as he was a Deputy Governor himself. As an Executive Director to IMF, he made significant amendments to the urban economic policies across SAARC, APAC and Africa. He has a strong involvement in the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, of which he was one of the founding members, along with Nandan Nilekani, Shirish Patel and Keshub Mahindra.

3. Rama Subramaniam Gandhi

The RBI veteran has been with the central banking institution since 1980. He is currently serving as the Deputy Governor of RBI. His immaculate economic expertise makes him the best candidate to replace Rajan, considering his current portfolio where he handles challenging segments of banking operations, NBFCs and risk monitoring.
He has already served as the Executive Director of Institute for Development & Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) that was established by the RBI in 1996.

4. Arundhati Bhattacharya

An Indian banker par excellence, Arundhati is the current Chair-Managing Director of India’s No.1 bank- The State Bank of India. Listed as one of the Top 25 Most Powerful Women in the World 2016 by Forbes, she has a resounding career to back her candidature.
A humble background with moderate earnings, Bhattacharya has served in SBI since 1977, joining it at the age of 22 years!

5. Kaushik Basu

Senior VP and Chief Economist of the World Bank, Kaushik Basu has the most distinguished career as an economist. His tenure as the Chief Economic Advisor to the GoIbtill July 2012. A formidable academician, he set up the Centre for Development Economics at the Delhi School of Economics in 1992.
